Nick é famoso por seu heroísmo e por seu sucesso com a mulheres.

Mesmo avisada pelas outras enfermeiras da Base, Tiggy se apaixona por Nick. Ele é famoso por sua troca sucessiva de mulheres, mas ela decide dar uma chance ao amor.

A história avança vários anos e o casal já está separado e vivendo longe um do outro por vários anos. Tiggy ainda sofre muito pela separação, mas consegue ir levando sua vida com muito trabalho e dedicação a sua família.

Nick sofre um acidente e está hospitalizado. Como eles não estão legalmente separados Tiggy é chamada no hospital e fica responsável por cuidar dele.

Ao longo da leitura descobrimos mais sobre a história do casal e os motivos que levaram Nick a abandonar Tiggy e a desistir do casamento deles.

Eu gosto muito desta autora mas os personagens não me cativaram. Eu acho que faltou profundidade e emoção ao desenrolar da história que apesar de boa não é uma das melhores.

Ele se sentia responsável pelos colegas e soldados que ele deixou no Afeganistão e se sentia culpado quando estava em casa com a Tiggy. Na verdade parecia que ele não a amava o suficiente para realmente se comprometer com ela e com o casamento deles.

É claro que tem final feliz, mas nada emocionante o suficiente para ficar na nossa memória.

The book tells the story of Nick Casey and Tiggy Williams.

He is a doctor in the service of the army and based in Afghanistan. She is a nurse and is there to serve for 6 months.

Nick is famous for his heroism and his success with women.

Even warned by other nurses, Tiggy falls in love with Nick. He is famous for his successive exchange of women, but she decides to give a chance to love.

The story moves forward several years and the couple is already separated and living away from one another for several years. Tiggy still suffers a lot from separation, but manages to go taking his life with hard work and dedication to his family.

Nick suffers an accident and is hospitalized. As they are not legally separated Tiggy is called at the hospital and is responsible for looking after him.

Along the reading we discovered more about the story of the couple and the reasons that led Nick to abandon Tiggy and give up their marriage.

I really like this author but the characters are not captivated me. I think it lacked depth and emotion to the unfolding of the story that while good is not one of the best.

He felt responsible for colleagues and soldiers who he left in Afghanistan and felt guilty when she was at home with Tiggy. In fact it seemed that he did not love her enough to really commit to her and their marriage.

Of course it has a happy ending, but nothing exciting enough to stay in our memory.
